Hyundai Santro has performed extremely well on Indian roads. The Santro was initially launched in India in 1999 and becomes a very popular car in hatchback segment in India. The Santro was relaunched in the year 2003 with name as Santro Xing, with quite a few modifications.

The Santro is a very affordable car for the India’s middle segment and comes with great features like superior technology, great room space, elegant interiors and with a feel of trust. The new Santro has become a hot favorite as a small family car in India.

Santro is available in Indian market in eight variants which includes XK Non AC, GL, GLS, GL LPG, GLS LPG, XK Non AC CNG, GL CNG and GLS CNG. The car comes in eight beautiful colors: Crystal White, Black Diamond, Sleek Silver, Electric Red, Dark Grey, Silky Beige, Berry Red and Sparkle Blue.

Santro Xing Performance

The new Santro is comprised of Hyundai eRLX Epsilon engine, which is 1086 CC and give 62bhp at 5500 rpm and 96 nm torque at 4000 rpm. Hyundai‚s eRLX technology helps to improve the new Santro’s mileage as well as performance and is Euro IV compliant. The new Santro has 5 speed manual transmission and also has a 4-speed automatic gearbox option in the GLS variant, which is best suited during the hassle of frequent gear changing in city traffic.

Hyundai Santro contains ventilated discs on the front wheels and self-adjusting drums in the rear. The Santro is a very fuel economic car and delivers an average of 11 – 16 kms in city and highway.The new Santro Xing features world class McPherson Strut suspension in the front and 3-link offset coil springs in the rear, which even out the bumps on Indian roads. The car has wider tyres that helps while driving in slippery surfaces. The suspension is the same but changes would be made to the front rear suspension if needed.

Looks & Style

The new Santro Xing has a more international look with a new aerodynamic body.  The all new front grill of Santro adds to its looks along with the new chrome rounded headlamps with integrated indicators. The rear end of the car has new brighter tail lights, body color bumper and a sporty rear spoiler. The door handles have been given an all new look and wheel covers have been added to give it a mode look.

The interior of the car comes in a ravishing brown color which is very much similar to that of i20 and an aerodynamic body stricture. The front of the car will has a new elegant grille, chrome inserted new stylish headlamps with integrated indicators and re-designed cool front fenders. The back has new better and brighter tail lights, body colored bumper and a sporty rear spoiler. Moreover, the doors have new pull type grab handles and the wheels will be covered by new full wheel cover for a great look. The rear spoiler gives a better aerodynamics.

The interior comes in exciting brown very similar to that of i20. It has an all new silver finish center console, rotary control for air conditioners and for storage areas. The dashboard has given smarter look and feel than the previous one. The has enough leg space, supportive seats with other features like air-conditioning, heater, blower speed, power steering, power windows, rear wiper and washer, defogger, intermittent wiper and washer. Safety features include child locks, crumple zones and high torsion impact bars.
